Planning Department staff said the Historic Preservation Commission unanimously recommended designation, noting the building's 1935 construction date, unique mix of storybook and Art Deco façade treatments, and association with the Sorrento Macaroni Company and the Royal Baking Company.
The committee voted to forward the nomination and its supporting report to the full Board for consideration; a hearing date will be set by the Clerk—s office.
