The Land Use and Transportation Committee of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted 3-0 on March 30 to continue consideration of an ordinance that would create an intermediate‑length occupancy residential use characteristic and require a Controller study of impacts.
The continuation was offered by Chair Supervisor Aaron Peskin, who said the item had been continued from the committee's prior hearing held before the mayor's shelter‑in‑place order. Peskin moved to continue the matter "to the call of the chair," and the clerk called a roll. Supervisors Dean Preston, Asha Safaii and Chair Peskin registered aye votes and the motion to continue passed.
Committee clerk Erica Major confirmed there were no members of the public in the call queue to offer comment on the item. The ordinance as described by the clerk would also amend the Administrative Code to clarify enforceability regarding use of rental units for temporary occupancies and affirm appropriate findings.
With the motion approved, the item will remain continued to the chair for a future scheduling decision. The item is scheduled to appear on the Board of Supervisors agenda for April 7, 2020, unless otherwise noted in committee materials.
