PUC seeks subcommittee sign-off on 35-year solar master license with SFUSD

The Budget and Finance subcommittee reviewed a master license agreement that would allow the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and San Francisco Unified School District to expand solar photovoltaic systems across school properties.
John Doyle, manager of energy infrastructure at the SFPUC, described the 35-year term (10 years of installations plus 25 years expected operating life) under which the PUC would cover installation and ongoing operation costs while the school district would purchase electricity at its current rates. "This is a master license agreement between the SFPUC and the school district that will allow for installation of solar PV systems on schools through the school district," Doyle said.
There were no public speakers on the item and committee members forwarded the resolution to the full Board with recommendation without objection.
Next steps: The item will be placed on the Board of Supervisors agenda for formal approval.
