Weidner said the proposed resolution would add JetBlue, WestJet, World Air Airways and MN Airlines as signatories to the existing lease-and-use agreement, which gives signatory carriers a 25% lower landing fee as an incentive. "Signatory airlines— receive 25% lower landing fees," Weidner said. The airport estimates JetBlue will pay roughly $205,000 per month in rent and landing fees under the new terms; the other three carriers are estimated to pay about $75,000 per month combined for the remainder of the fiscal year.
The budget analyst confirmed the fee reductions and recommended approval while noting the airport's policy makes the net revenue impact effectively neutral. There was no public comment on the item, and the committee forwarded the resolution to the full Board with recommendation without objection.
Next steps: The matter will be considered by the Board of Supervisors at its next meeting.
