The Land Use and Transportation Committee moved Jan. 27 to advance an ordinance that amends the City’s plumbing code to remove a local amendment that referenced San Francisco Public Utilities Commission rules, add local cross-connection controls for beverage dispensers and industrial water chillers, and require testing of backflow-prevention assemblies.
The clerk read the ordinance; no members of the public testified. Chair Aaron Peskin remarked that previous substantive amendments had required a continuance but that the PUC and the Department of Building Inspection are now communicating and the item could be sent forward. The committee closed public comment and, without objection, agreed to send the item to the full Board with recommendation.
The full Board will consider the ordinance at a future meeting.
