The committee forwarded to the full Board a petition to transfer a Type 20 off‑sale beer and wine license for Indie Supertte, a new neighborhood market planned at 3060 Fillmore. Officer Salmons of the Alcohol Liaison Unit told the committee there was one letter of protest, no letters of support, that the site sits in a low‑crime ‘‘Crime Plot 518’’ but a ‘‘high saturation’’ census tract, and that Northern ALU recommended approval with conditions including sales hours limited to 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and active measures to prevent loitering.
Alec Paddock, landlord and developer with Center Cal Properties, described the project as a mixed commercial development that will include a small‑format grocery operated as Indie Supertte and requested referral to the full Board for consideration of the license ahead of a projected January opening. ‘‘It’s a project we’ve been working on for over two years,’’ Paddock said, describing tenants and neighborhood benefits.
Chair Rafael Mandelmann moved that the committee find the license transfer will serve the public convenience and necessity and forward the matter to the Board of Supervisors with a positive recommendation; the motion was taken without objection. The committee asked the clerk to prepare a resolution reflecting the finding. Public comment was not received on this item during the committee hearing.
The committee’s referral does not itself grant the license; the full Board will consider the transfer and any formal permit or licensing actions.
