Committee forwards Acacia Street dedication to Board after Public Works confirms improvements

The Land Use and Transportation Committee on Sept. 23 agreed to forward an ordinance accepting a portion of Acacia Street and two Public Works orders to the full Board of Supervisors with a positive recommendation. The committee acted "without objection."
Javier Rivera of the Department of Public Works told the committee the San Francisco portion of Acacia Street is roughly 2,400 square feet and was inspected during construction; the department recommends accepting maintenance and liability for the area because the street improvements "were determined to be in compliance with city codes and regulations."
Vice Chair Asha Safaie asked how often boundary issues cross private property lines and whether infrastructure—sewers and street maintenance—would be affected. Rivera said dedications of this kind are not frequent, that the county line does sometimes run through private properties, and that "all of the new homes are in Daly City" and connect to Daly City's sewer mains, with no new underground infrastructure required on the San Francisco strip.
Chair Erin Peskin then asked for and received a motion to send the item to the full Board with a recommendation. No public speakers addressed the item during the committee meeting.
The committee's action forwards the ordinance and associated public-works orders for final consideration by the Board of Supervisors.
