Whole Foods Market’s liquor‑sale applications get committee’s positive recommendation

Attorney Ryan Kroll and Whole Foods store director Adam Smith described the store’s planning commission COA, longstanding local operations, and security and employee training to ensure lawful alcohol sales.
Public commenters raised concerns about the timing of construction and packet materials; ALU clarified that the applicant had agreed to conditions and that the concerns raised earlier during ABC review had been addressed. Supervisor Haney signaled support for the application and Chair Mandelmann moved to direct the clerk to prepare a resolution finding the license meets public convenience and necessity and forward it with a positive recommendation to the Board; the committee took that motion without objection.
The committee recommendation will be reflected in a formal resolution prepared by the Clerk; the Board of Supervisors will consider the item at a future meeting.
