The committee considered a resolution fixing prevailing wages for workers on public construction projects and for other service categories.
Anita Sanchez of the Civil Service Commission explained its annual certification. Donna Levitt of the Office of Labor Standards Enforcement noted that up-to-date wage information was missing for two contracts—the SEIU Local 1877 janitorial contract and garage attendants—and suggested delaying action until the DHR could provide updated attachments. Rich David (Department of Human Resources) said DHR was trying to obtain the ratified MOU and could supply the details shortly.
The committee agreed to divide the file: most of the resolution would be forwarded to the full Board and the janitorial and parking garage contracts would be continued for one week (to the call of the chair or next committee meeting) pending updated DHR attachments.
