DA’s Office authorized to accept $402,457 federal grant for Southeast Community Response Network

The committee forwarded a resolution authorizing the District Attorney’s Office to accept and expend a $402,457 federal earmark from the U.S. Department of Justice to support the Southeast Community Response Network (CRN) for July 2006 through June 2010.
Lenore Anderson of the District Attorney’s Office said the grant is the third earmark secured with support from Speaker Pelosi; partners include the Department of Children, Youth & Families, Department of Public Health and numerous community-based organizations in Bayview-Hunters Point, Visitacion Valley and Sunnydale. Anderson said the DA’s Office is coordinating with city partners to align the Southeast CRNs with the broader city CRN infrastructure and to identify ongoing funding sources after start-up support ends.
The committee closed public comment and forwarded the grant to the full Board with recommendation as a committee report.
