Committee approves amended port project manager request and forwards county SACPA plan
Summary
The committee approved reducing a new Port project manager request to 0.5 FTE and forwarded it to the full Board, and it also forwarded the county plan for the Substance Abuse and Crime Prevention Act (SACPA) for FY2008–09 from DPH.

Item 3: The Port requested an additional Project Manager I position to manage $33 million in bond‑funded projects and anticipated revenue bond work. The budget analyst recommended reducing the current year request from 0.75 FTE to 0.5 FTE; the presenter agreed and the committee sent the amended proposal to the full Board with a recommendation.
Item 6: Craig Murdock of the Department of Public Health presented San Francisco’s annual submission for the Substance Abuse and Crime Prevention Act (SACPA) program, a diversion program that allows eligible nonviolent offenders to receive substance‑use treatment instead of incarceration. Staff indicated the program served roughly 302–322 individuals in FY 2006–07 and that the city is on track to meet targets for the current year. The committee forwarded the plan to the full Board with recommendation.
