Chair Supervisor Rafael Mandelmann told the panel the ordinance would “require, in general, that brick and mortar businesses accept payment in cash in connection with the purchase of goods and services other than professional services,” and noted that a set of amendments adopted April 11 required the item to return to committee for final action.
The committee took public comment again and, seeing none, closed the public‑comment period before moving the measure forward. Mandelmann made the motion to forward the item with a positive recommendation; no member objected and the motion carried.
The committee did not vote to adopt the ordinance itself; it instead sent the amended item to the full Board of Supervisors for further consideration and final action. The clerk noted items acted on at this hearing will appear on the Board’s May 7 agenda unless otherwise stated.
