Sergeant George (SFPD) said the proposed location falls in Plot 130 (labeled a high-crime area) and in Census Tract 106 (high-saturation). The Alcohol Liaison Unit reported zero letters of protest or support and recommended conditions including permitted sales hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., a prohibition on distilled spirit bottles or containers smaller than 600 milliliters, and active monitoring to prevent loitering. The applicant agreed to those conditions.
Applicant Tony Germaniani spoke in support, identifying himself as a local restaurateur with multiple establishments and stressing the license’s importance to his small business in North Beach. With no public opposition, Vice Chair Ronan moved to prepare a resolution affirming the license meets public convenience and necessity; the committee adopted the motion without objection.
