Mark Rennie, the applicant's attorney, told the committee his client purchased the establishment, which previously operated as a karaoke lounge and sports bar, and said a mezzanine discovered during an Alcoholic Beverage Control inspection adds about "15 to 20 percent" to the venue's square footage. "This has been a community serving establishment," Rennie said, noting seven years of operation under the previous owner with "no noise complaints, no police issues." The owner was identified in the hearing as Kevin (recorded as Kevin Zong/Zong in the transcript).
The committee took no public comment on the item. Speaker 5 moved to prepare the resolution; Chair Mandelman said the committee would approve "without objection," and the item will be placed on the Board of Supervisors agenda on Oct. 2, 2018, unless otherwise stated.
The committee's approval is an internal finding to forward the license transfer for Board consideration; no formal Board adoption took place at this meeting.
