Clerk read the items into the record and Supervisor Mercurini asked that items 6 and 7 be continued because negotiations between Lyon Martin and other health facilities were ongoing and clinic representatives could not yet answer questions about advancing a loan. Committee members agreed to hear public comment before formal action. One member of the public asked where to obtain the department budget and raised health concerns including San Francisco's liver-cancer ranking; Chair Carmen Chu offered to connect that speaker with DPH staff for follow-up and confirmed the items would be continued.
Supervisor Mercurini said Lyon Martin must complete its financial assessment before the committee can consider advancing a loan or other action. The committee took a motion to continue items 5, 6 and 7 to the call of the chair and did so without objection. Chair Chu asked the Department of Public Health CFO to follow up with members of the public who requested more information.
Next steps: DPH and Lyon Martin representatives were asked to complete outstanding financial assessments and the DPH CFO will meet with community members who requested more detail; the items will be rescheduled to the call of the chair when the parties can provide the requested information.
