The Budget & Finance Subcommittee considered a lease modification for Emirates at San Francisco International Airport. Kathy Weidner (San Francisco Airport) asked the committee to approve modification Number 1 to the existing lease and use agreement to add roughly 9,502 square feet for a post‑security passenger lounge in the international terminal (boarding area A). She said Emirates’ current lease covered about 1,696 square feet of ticket counters and administrative offices with annual rent of approximately $250,000 and that the new space would bring the annual rent to about $1,800,000 — an increase of roughly $1.5 million — with all construction costs to be borne by Emirates.
The committee’s budget analyst reported the airport would receive an estimated $1,538,374 in additional annual rental revenue, and recommended approval. There were no public comments on the item. A motion to send the item to the Board with recommendation passed without objection.
