Hearing on WeDriveU/Halcon compliance continued after tentative settlement

The Land Use Committee on Sept. 17 opened a hearing on whether WeDriveU and Halcon Transportation Loop were in compliance with Board Resolution 96‑15 and ultimately continued the matter for one week after parties reached a tentative agreement.
Supervisor Asha Safai told the committee a tentative agreement had been reached in recent negotiations and asked the committee to postpone the hearing to allow ratification. Teamsters counsel Dennis Sodom confirmed a tentative deal and said members would vote on it on Sept. 22. WeDriveU’s chief operating officer Tim Whalen and an executive from Halcon Transportation said they concurred and asked for the week‑long continuance. The committee continued the item without objection to allow the parties to complete ratification.
The continuance preserves the hearing schedule while giving the union membership and companies time to vote on the tentative settlement.
