Clerk staff said the task force is expected to begin meeting in mid‑August and could hold roughly 30 meetings before issuing a final report in April of the following year.
Candidates and public commenters emphasized outreach to working‑class communities, tenants, language access and data‑driven mapping. Several community organizations — including San Francisco Rising and tenant and immigrant groups — urged appointments of candidates with deep ties to communities of color and working‑class neighborhoods. Supervisor Chan moved a slate of three candidates the committee adopted.
Next steps: The clerk will place the recommended appointments on the full board agenda for confirmation; the task force is expected to begin meeting in mid‑August, and staff said a public information page will be posted on the Board of Supervisors website.
