The committee approved two related land-use items affecting Burnett Avenue North (Items 4 and 5) and will forward both as committee reports to the full Board of Supervisors.
Planning department staff told the committee the planning commission reviewed the rezoning and summary vacation in late 2017 and January 2018 and unanimously approved the ordinance after additional analysis of potential development scenarios. A homeowner association representative said the HOA endorses the settlement but asked that the record and the street-name be corrected — he said the parcel to be vacated is part of 'Old Burnett Avenue' and expressed concern that naming might cause confusion with the existing Burnett Avenue North.
The committee moved and approved sending both items as committee reports to the full board without objection. The clerk and sponsor noted that a follow-up GAO/government-audit item will appear as part of the process.
