Committee recommends slate for Housing Stability Fund oversight board created by Prop I

Applicants who spoke included Ken Fujioka (Chinatown Community Development Center), Edward Paralon (Mosaic Urban Development), John Jacobo (TODCO), Fernando Marti (Council of Community Housing Organizations), Shanti Singh (Tenants Together), Alex Lansberg (electrical construction industry research/advocacy), Remhai Menelik (housing cooperative resident), John Baranski (author/academic), Hans Hao (affordable housing finance), Davida Escobedo (anti-displacement organizer), Laksh Basan and Simone Manganielli.
After public comment and internal discussion about residency waivers and seat assignments, Chair Peskin proposed a recommended slate allocating specific seats (including a small number of residency waivers noted in the record). The committee voted unanimously to recommend the appointments to the full board.
The oversight board will report to the Mayor’s Office of Community Development and the Board of Supervisors and is intended to guide how Prop I revenues are spent on social housing and related strategies.
