Public comment included a caller who said Yee would represent a segment of the population that previously lacked representation and pledged support. After adopting the amendment, the committee voted to forward the nomination as a committee report to the full Board for consideration at a meeting scheduled for a week later, rather than the following day, because the mayor's office had not provided materials in time.
