Committee amends and forwards revocable‑permission request for 45 Lansing Street

The Land Use Committee advanced a resolution authorizing 45 Lansing Development LLC to occupy and maintain the shared public way on Lancing Street between Guy Place and First Street, while adopting several de minimis technical amendments.

Sponsor representation said the physical improvements have already been completed and the item authorizes the developer to continue maintenance subject to an encroachment and maintenance agreement with the city. Deputy City Attorney John Givner confirmed the city attorney’s office would review minor amendments but indicated the DPW director has existing authority to revoke encroachment permits for cause; supervisors requested clarification on how a later revocation would interact with an agreement that conditions project approvals on an encroachment permit. The project sponsor said the improvements were already reviewed and approved by relevant agencies and that they are monitoring related street‑encroachment legislation being considered by the Board.

Supervisor Peskin moved an omnibus motion to strike certain clauses and adopt the de minimis amendments; the committee took the motion without objection and forwarded the item with a positive recommendation to the full Board.
