The Budget and Finance Committee recommended that the Board of Supervisors accept and spend $11,553,000 in federal Surface Transportation Program and Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds, awarded through the Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s CMAQ Block Grant Program, for four transportation projects.
Mary Musinski of the Department of Public Works said the federal funds were awarded in June of the prior year and the board previously adopted a resolution of support in September. The four projects listed in the materials are: Folsom Streetscape from Nineteenth to Cesar Chavez; Second Street Streetscape from Market to King; Broadway Streetscape Phase 3 from Kearny to Battery (one-block improvement and paving); and the Marina Green Bike Trail from Lyon to Laguna.
No substantive public opposition was recorded and the committee moved the resolution forward with recommendation.
