Cronin, who told the committee he has moved out of San Francisco but was willing to serve temporarily, said one of the most important accomplishments during his tenure was securing an outside auditor to review revenue bonds and related spending. He urged the city to institutionalize regular external audits "as opposed to having the revenue bond oversight committee need to come up with this process kind of ad hoc," saying a standardized audit schedule could improve efficiency.
Ronan thanked Cronin for his service and asked him to help transition any outstanding tasks during his interim term. The clerk recorded the motion and roll-call vote with Supervisors Catherine Stephanie and Gordon Marr joining Ronan in support. The committee’s recommendation advances the nomination to the full Board of Supervisors for final action.
The committee’s action was procedural: it forwarded the nomination with a positive recommendation rather than making a final appointment. The nomination file lists the seat as seat 2 with a term ending Nov. 12, 2020.
