Committee advances retroactive amendment to Tide Center property-management agreement

The Budget and Finance Committee recommended that the Board approve a retroactive amendment to the agreement with the Tide Center (Tides Corporation) to provide property-management services at Direct Access to Housing sites, extending the contract term by three years and increasing the contract amount by $10,570,840.
Anne Okubo, deputy financial officer at Public Health, said the contract funds property management services for the direct access to housing program. The budget analyst reported the contract was competitively bid but—due to an error—was awarded for two years even though the RFP allowed up to ten; the department now seeks to amend the agreement for another three years with five 1-year options, each subject to Board approval, and intends to competitively re-bid the contract after the ten-year window.
The committee opened public comment with no speakers and advanced the item to the Board of Supervisors with a recommendation for approval; the motion on the record was made by Supervisor McRae (transcript spelling) and taken without objection.
