Rules Committee recommends Janice Petty for Commission on Aging Advisory Council

The San Francisco Rules Committee on March 9 recommended Janice Petty to the Commission on Aging Advisory Council for a term ending March 31, 2022.
Petty, speaking to the committee, described decades of local involvement: "I'm a native San Franciscan... I've lived in West Portal for over 40 years," she said, and listed nonprofit work with Glide, City College of San Francisco, United Way and the Red Cross. She described prior service on the civil grand jury and work raising funds and support for services for seniors, including outreach to Laguna Honda.
Petty also raised the emerging public health concern from COVID-19 and told supervisors she would "encourage and support the work of the commission to provide services to the aging population of San Francisco through this particular crisis and beyond."
A motion to recommend her appointment passed unanimously without objection and will be forwarded to the full Board of Supervisors.
