Rules Committee backs Megan Wallace for Treasury Oversight Committee seat

The San Francisco Rules Committee on March 9 recommended Megan Wallace for appointment to the Treasury Oversight Committee, referring the nomination to the Board of Supervisors with a positive recommendation.
Megan Wallace, chief financial officer for the San Francisco Unified School District, told the committee she has worked more than 13 years in budget, finance and public policy, including positions at the federal Office of Management and Budget, the Port of San Francisco and in school district finance. "I am Megan Wallace, chief financial officer with San Francisco Unified School District," she said, noting she now oversees the school facilities bond program and that the district is preparing for a bond sale this spring.
After Wallace—s remarks and a short public-comment period in which no members of the public spoke, an unidentified supporter addressed the committee and moved to approve the appointment while striking the word "rejecting" from the motion. Chair Supervisor Hillary Ronan said, "And without objection, that motion passes unanimously," and the clerk restated that item 1 had been amended and would be referred to the Board as amended with recommendation.
The committee took no recorded roll-call vote on the floor; the item was forwarded to the full Board of Supervisors for final action.
