The Rules Committee on Feb. 10 voted to forward three appointments to the Graffiti Advisory Board to the full Board of Supervisors with a positive recommendation.
Devin Jones, an applicant for Seat 12, said he works for the San Francisco Pretrial Diversion Project and supervises the program's street environmental services unit that conducts graffiti abatement. "My main focus at Pretrial Diversion is in graffiti abatement," Jones said, describing experience supervising clients who remove graffiti as part of court-ordered community service.
Daniel Kling, an applicant for Seat 15, told the committee he had served previous terms on the advisory board and works for Recology on the citywide recycling team. Kling cited work on civil graffiti penalties and collaboration with law enforcement and the district attorney's office as accomplishments while serving on the board.
Sharon Rose, who identified herself as Jones's supervisor, spoke in support and described Jones's experience leading twice-weekly cleanup teams.
Supervisor Catherine Stephanie moved to forward Devin Jones (Seat 12), Darcy Brown (Seat 13) and Daniel Kling (Seat 15) to the full Board with a positive recommendation. The committee approved the motion "without objection." The clerk had read that the appointments, if confirmed, would have terms ending April 10, 2021.
The committee did not take roll-call votes during the meeting; members recorded their support by approving the motion and forwarding the candidates to the full Board for confirmation.
