At the Jan. 27, 2020 Rules Committee meeting, the committee recommended Mark Brandt for appointment to Seat 3 on the Bicycle Advisory Committee (term through Nov. 18, 2020) and voted to reappoint Mary Anne Cazunas to the Small Business Commission (term through Jan. 6, 2024).
Mark Brandt described his priorities for the Bicycle Advisory Committee as improving safety and pairing capital improvements with education. He expressed concern about ride-hailing vehicles double-parking in bike lanes and said his committee has discussed mechanisms for companies to share data or bear some enforcement costs. Brandt also said he plans to request a ladder-style crosswalk at Jones and Columbus.
Mary Anne Cazunas said she has served four years on the Small Business Commission, highlighted work on economic-impact approaches for small businesses and a tobacco-license economic mitigation working group, and asked to continue that work for another term. Both appointments were moved and passed by the committee without objection.
The committee’s recommendations will proceed to the Board of Supervisors for final confirmation.
