The committee recommended that the Board consider the conditional vacation of certain San Francisco Public Utilities Commission public service easements within subphases 1A and 1B of the Park Merced development area, a roughly 152-acre site in the Lake Merced district. Javier Rivera of Public Works described the proposed easement changes as standard for the redevelopment process; he said the SFPUC will retain easement rights where replacement infrastructure remains or where public-improvement agreements are in place.
No public comment was received on the item during the committee hearing. Supervisor Aaron Peskin moved to forward item 3 as a committee report with recommendation and to refer item 4 without recommendation for the Board’s January meeting; both motions passed unanimously.
The actions would allow the director of real estate to execute quitclaim deeds tied to the conditional vacations, subject to preserving critical PUC easement rights until replacements are constructed.
