Rules Committee extends Pedestrian Safety Advisory Committee sunset date for one year

The Rules Committee voted Oct. 28 to extend the Pedestrian Safety Advisory Committee's sunset date by one year, moving it to Oct. 1, 2020, and directed the committee to recommend any changes to its structure or duties by May 2020.
Erica Maybaum (legislative aide for Supervisor Norman Yee) presented the measure and said the extension would give the committee time to review and recommend structural or membership changes. Representatives from SFMTA, Janet Martinson and Michael Jacobson, were present to answer questions.
There was no public comment on the item and the committee approved the amendment unanimously.
Next steps: The ordinance will be forwarded to the full Board for consideration; the Pedestrian Safety Advisory Committee is expected to report recommendations on structure and duties by May 2020.
