Committee forwards Green Finance SF grant and related consulting contract to full Board

The Budget and Finance Committee voted to forward to the full Board two related items to support Green Finance SF: an amendment to substitute the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission as the formal recipient of a $2,080,000 State Energy Program grant, and a professional services agreement with ICF International for up to $19,000,000 for energy-efficiency, renewable energy and climate work.
Rich Chen, program manager for Green Finance SF at the Department of the Environment, said the CEC grant will support the launch of the city’s municipal financing program for energy and water retrofits of privately owned buildings. "Our intention is not to change at all the use of the funds, but just to make that administrative change and get our contract, approved by the California Energy Commission," Chen said, adding the grant is scheduled for CEC consideration on May 5.
Chen said the amendment corrects the recipient name to the SFPUC so the state can finalize the contract; staffing and program administration will remain with the Department of the Environment. The committee moved both items forward with recommendation to the full Board.
