Supervisor Scott Wiener, who presented the item, said the interim measures — previously adopted for neighborhoods including Corona Heights and Corbett Heights — were not meant to ban development but to provide a conditional‑use process that has in some cases facilitated mediated resolutions and avoided appeals. Wiener said the Planning Department is working on citywide controls that could supersede these interim measures but that it is not yet ready.
One public commenter, Gilbert Criswell, voiced opposition to the extension. The committee then forwarded the resolution to the full Board with a positive recommendation; the motion passed without objection.
