Committee files six‑month Transbay sign‑control report and seeks permanent rules

Supervisor Kim’s office presented the Planning Department’s six‑month report on interim sign controls for the Transit Center District (the area bounded by Folsom, Harrison, Essex and Second Street). The controls, enacted in November 2015, were the subject of the required public hearing.
April Vanaracion Ng summarized the report and said the author seeks to request the City Attorney and Planning Department draft permanent legislation. No members of the public offered comment at the hearing, and Supervisor Peskin moved to file the report and proceed with permanent legislation.
The committee took that motion without objection and filed the six‑month report; staff indicated they will work with the city attorney to pursue permanent controls.
