The Rules Committee approved two personnel items July 15. For Item 3 the committee advanced the nomination of Paul Wells (Seat 10) to the San Francisco Bicycle Advisory Committee. Wells described SFBAC’s increased engagement and work on Vision Zero priorities, protected bike lanes, and the need for coordinated infrastructure in underserved neighborhoods (Bayview). Supervisor Walton moved the nomination; it passed without objection.
Item 4, the mayor’s reappointment of Ben Lyman to the Entertainment Commission (term ending July 1, 2023), was presented by Lyman, who described digitizing permitting, relocating the office to 49 South Van Ness, and efforts to support performers and venues. Several community members testified in favor of Lyman, citing mentorship and community building. Supervisors praised his preparation and contributions and moved to approve the reappointment; the motion passed without objection.
Both items were recommended by the committee to the Board or finalized as committee actions as appropriate.
