The committee approved Item 1, a resolution authorizing the San Francisco Department of Public Health to accept and retroactively expend a National Institutes of Health grant of approximately $9,508,907 to fund AIDS office space renovation for the period 03/04/2010–03/03/2015.
Martin So to, deputy director for HIV research in the Office of AIDS, described the grant amount and period. Construction procurement will be managed through the Department of Public Works with professional-services contracts and a competitive construction bid. Mark Primo (construction manager) said the project expects schematic approval from NIH in July and aims to be ready to bid by May of next year.
No public commenters spoke on the item and the committee moved the resolution forward to the full Board with recommendation.
