Committee backs rezoning at Potrero Hill site to enable Hope SF rebuilding

Matt Snyder of the Planning Department provided technical detail, saying the site is on the southeast slope of Potrero Hill and that the proposal would align two parcels’ zoning to RM2 and increase allowed heights (the discussion identified current zoning at 40 feet and proposed consistency with a 50-foot height within the Hope SF vision). Snyder also described plans to reconfigure streets and blocks to improve neighborhood connections and said the two subject parcels include one owned by the school district currently zoned P and an underlying RM2 parcel.
The chair opened public comment for the item; no members of the public spoke. Cohen then moved to forward the ordinance with a positive recommendation, and the committee approved the motion ‘‘without objection,’’ advancing the measure to the full Board of Supervisors for consideration on the published board agenda.
The committee record shows the item will appear on the Board’s June 28 agenda unless otherwise stated; the committee provided a positive recommendation and requested no further action at the committee level.
