The Rules Committee on May 6 reviewed three mayoral appointments and took action on all three items.
Clerk Victor Young read the three items: the mayor's reappointment of Mara Rosales to the Successor Agency Commission (term through Nov. 3, 2022), the appointment of Vivette Brackett to finish an unexpired Successor Agency Commission term (ending Nov. 3, 2020), and the appointment of Desi (listed in the agenda as Desi Dankenen/Dunnigan) to the successor agency of redevelopment (term through Nov. 3, 2022).
Mara Rosales introduced herself, outlining her decades-long experience in San Francisco as an attorney and community advocate and her prior service on the commission. Des Lampares spoke in support of Desi as a community and labor leader.
Chair Supervisor Hillary Ronan moved to continue Item 3 (Vivette Brackett) to the May 20 Rules Committee meeting; the motion passed without objection. Supervisor (speaker 8) moved to confirm the reappointment of Mara Rosales (Item 2) and to approve the mayor's appointment of Desi (Item 4) with positive recommendations to the full Board; both motions passed without objection. No recorded roll-call votes were taken at the Rules Committee; committee actions were by unanimous voice.
The items will be transmitted to the full Board of Supervisors with the committee's positive recommendations for items 2 and 4 and with item 3 continued to May 20.
