Rules Committee forwards Allegra Fortunati’s reappointment to Commission on Aging

Allegra Fortunati, a long-time District 5 resident and San Francisco elder-care advocate, was forwarded by the Rules Committee on April 1 to the full Board of Supervisors for reappointment to the Commission on Aging with a positive recommendation.

Fortunati told the committee she has served on the aging advisory council since October 2016, is the council’s secretary and a member of its joint legislative committee, and was recently installed as San Francisco’s senior senator to the California Senior Legislature. She said her work as a field ombudsman for the San Francisco Long Term Care Ombudsman Program gives her direct experience with assisted living and adult residential facilities and that she advocates for older adults and adults with developmental or mental-health disabilities.

Committee members had no questions during the public portion and Chair Supervisor Hillary Ronan opened and closed public comment after seeing no speakers. Supervisor (speaker 4) moved to forward Fortunati to the full board with a positive recommendation; the chair stated the motion passed without objection.

The committee’s positive recommendation will be placed on the Board of Supervisors agenda (the clerk said items acted upon today will appear on the April 9 board agenda unless otherwise stated). No additional conditions or amendments were recorded by the committee; the Board will consider the reappointment at its next meeting.
