Committee forwards Historic Preservation and Parks advisory nominations to full Board

The Rules Committee on March 14 voted to forward several personnel items to the full Board with positive recommendations.
Kate Black, nominated to the Historic Preservation Commission, summarized more than 30 years of municipal planning and architectural history experience and said she would balance preservation with the city's evolving housing needs. The committee approved her nomination unanimously and will send it with a positive recommendation to the full Board.
The committee also considered three seats on the Park, Recreation and Open Space Advisory Committee. Two candidates (Mark Scheuer and Steven Currier) appeared and described long-standing park advocacy and neighborhood experience; one candidate (Giselle Rayner) was traveling and the committee continued that appointment to a later meeting. The committee moved the two present nominees forward with recommendations to the full Board.
