Rules Committee advances multiple board and advisory appointments

Committee members discussed gender balance and lived experience; Supervisor Stephanie moved to appoint Marcus Dancer to seat 14 and reappoint Toni Parks to seat 12. The motion passed by unanimous consent.
South of Market Community Stabilization Fund CAC (Item 6): Applicants Daniel Hallad and John Eberling (both incumbents) emphasized community ties and attendance. The committee moved to appoint Daniel Hallad to seat 1 and John Eberling to seat 6 and forwarded the nominations with a positive recommendation.
Children, Youth and Their Families Oversight & Advisory Committee (Item 7): Two applicants for one opening — Nadia Sharif and Joanna Powell — answered questions about DCYF engagement and priorities. DCYF staff confirmed outreach to both candidates. The committee favored Powell’s prior engagement with DCYF and moved to appoint Joanna Powell to seat 11 with a positive recommendation to the full Board.
Each of the committee’s recommended appointments will be considered by the Board of Supervisors at a future meeting.
