Michael Pappas, executive director of the San Francisco Interfaith Council and a former Human Rights Commissioner, presented his experience coordinating faith‑based responses to homelessness and elder services, convening congregation leaders, and working with agencies including the Department of Adult and Aging Services. Public commenters and commissioners praised his outreach and community work.
Supervisors seconded support after meeting with Pappas; Supervisor Yee moved and Supervisor Feuer seconded a motion to forward the nomination to the full board with positive recommendation. The committee approved the motion and the appointment will go to the full Board for confirmation.
