The Controller’s Office presented a bundled Prop J resolution asking the Budget & Finance Committee to concur that a set of services historically contracted out across enterprise departments remains less costly than providing the services with civil‑service employees.
Miss Amuda from the controller’s office reviewed the list of longstanding contracts and estimated savings by service (examples cited: airport parking management savings, shuttle bus contracting, information booths and security) and emphasized that no new services are proposed to be contracted out in this resolution. Committee members asked for local business enterprise (LBE) participation information and clarification about parking garage arrangements; the controller’s office said all contracts have been bid and that LBE status and participation statistics can be provided upon request.
The committee moved the resolution forward to the full Board without public comment. The controller’s office and departments will continue to provide details on LBE participation as requested by supervisors.
