Rules Committee advances multiple advisory-board and task-force appointments to full Board

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors Rules Committee on June 13 heard presentations from a slate of applicants to advisory bodies and task forces and forwarded multiple nominations to the full Board with positive recommendations.

Chair Supervisor Asha Safaei opened the meeting and led hearings on six agenda items that collectively covered nominations to the SweatFree Procurement Advisory Group, the Sunshine Ordinance Task Force, the Food Security Task Force, the Child Care Planning and Advisory Council (CPAC), the In‑Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority, and the Graffiti Advisory Board.

On Item 1, the committee considered four appointments to the SweatFree Procurement Advisory Group (terms ending Dec. 17, 2017). Applicant Dave Marin described his startup Spend Right and said his procurement experience includes contracting software programmers for UCSF. Marin said he could serve either in the seat requiring significant government procurement experience or as a public-member seat.
