Supervisor-backed recommendation advances Teresa Imperial for Eastern Neighborhoods advisory seat

Teresa Imperial, who said she has worked in the South of Market community since 2009, recounted tenant-rights outreach, advocacy for language access and involvement in neighborhood planning. "I learned the rich history of Filipino Americans and...connect my personal experiences to the bigger picture of my community," she said (Teresa Imperial).
Multiple community leaders and Supervisor Kim's representative spoke in support of Imperial, citing her work translating housing applications and educating tenants. Supervisor (speaker 5) moved to recommend Imperial and the chair ordered the item without objection.
The committee record lists the seat term ending Oct. 19, 2017; the recommendation will be considered by the full Board on July 11, 2017.
