Applicant Eddie Zhang told the committee he sought to "continue the momentum" of the oversight body and emphasized transparency in budget planning and engagement with vulnerable groups including transition-age youth, LGBTQ residents and immigrant communities. He said the committee must ensure departmental staff "are mindful of the representation of the vulnerable populations in this city." (Eddie Zhang).
Supervisor Norman Yee made the motion to grant the residency waiver and recommend reappointment. With no public comment and no objections from colleagues, Chair Supervisor Usher Safaei ordered the item forwarded to the full Board with a positive recommendation.
The committee record shows the reappointment will appear on the Board of Supervisors regular meeting agenda of July 11, 2017. The committee did not record a roll-call vote in the minutes; the chair announced the item "ordered" without objection.
