Rules Committee forwards Commission on Aging nominees with positive recommendation

Applicants for the Commission on Aging Advisory Council told the Rules Committee about their experience serving seniors, working in long-term care, and organizing neighborhood senior services. Juliet Rothman described 50 years in social work focused on aging and disability services and said she’s involved with Aquatic Park Senior Center and San Francisco Village.
Catherine (Cathy) Russo, Patty Spaniak and Allegra Fortunati each outlined backgrounds in gerontology, social work, or ombudsman work, and emphasized outreach, coordinated services and preserving senior-center programming. Committee members asked about coordination with the Dignity Fund planning process; Rothman said she had attended meetings but that DAS has its own advisory committee and that coordination is possible.
After brief comments from supervisors, the committee moved to forward the applicants to the full Board with a positive recommendation; public comment on the item was closed with no speakers registered.
