Committee recommends amendment transferring intertie maintenance to Santa Clara Valley Water District
Summary

The committee reviewed Item 2, a proposed first amendment to the operation and maintenance agreement between the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and the Santa Clara Valley Water District for an intertie project under Charter section 9.118.
Harvey Rose summarized the amendment: it shifts administration and primary maintenance responsibility for the intertie from PUC to the Santa Clara Valley Water District but would not increase PUC costs. The report included estimated PUC costs and projected savings; Rose said transferring responsibilities would enable the PUC to redeploy staff to other water system improvement projects and could enable annual savings of approximately $150,000 for the PUC.
After no public comment the committee voted to forward the amendment to the full board with recommendation.
