At the Jan. 12 Rules Committee meeting, supervisors discussed appointments to the Park, Recreation and Open Space Advisory Committee (PRoSAC). The committee decided to continue consideration of seat 7 to the call of the chair and to recommend Trevor McNeil for seat 20 to the full Board of Supervisors.
Supervisors asked staff to provide demographic details — including age, gender and racial breakdowns — for PRoSAC to better assess diversity on the advisory body. Chair Katie Tang said the committee typically defers to district supervisors when they nominate representatives to specific district seats but noted the committee and staff will consider overall complement and diversity for larger commissions.
The committee moved the continuation and recommendation by consensus; the items will appear on the Board agenda for formal action.
