Rules Committee recommends Allegra Fortunati for Commission on Aging Advisory Council

The San Francisco Rules Committee on Sept. 22 recommended Allegra Fortunati to the Commission on Aging Advisory Council to fill a term expiring March 31, 2017.
Fortunati, who identified herself as “a boomer senior living within District 5,” told supervisors she works part time as a field ombudsman for the San Francisco long‑term care ombudsman program and covers five long‑term care facilities, four of which she said were in District 5. She said her work with city and county departments and local nonprofits helps residents access services to “live the best life they can.”
The chair, Supervisor Katie Tang, opened public comment; no members of the public spoke. A motion to forward Fortunati’s appointment to the full Board of Supervisors was made and carried without objection.
Fortunati said she has attended several Commission on Aging and advisory council meetings, has met current members, and has read the four‑year area plan on aging. She told the committee she would focus on site visits and outreach to seniors and adults with disabilities, including people within LGBT, homeless, veteran and formerly incarcerated populations.
The committee’s action will be considered on the Board of Supervisors consent calendar on Oct. 4 unless noted otherwise; the committee clerk said items acted on that day would appear on that agenda.
